1/ Thread: I was initially supportive of Manzoor Pashteen, but not anymore. While we are at the topic of #ReleaseManzoorPashteen, lets go through some facts and you can see for yourself if he is indeed just about Pashtun rights.
2/ I originally liked him because I thought he was fighting for justice in case of Naqeebullah, as well as for the missing persons who are allegedly picked up by security agencies. But it gradually became clear that he was just using them as stepping stones for his larger agenda.
3/ As you will see in a bit, the agenda is to incite hatred against Pakistani state. Not some security agencies. Not army. Not rogue police officers. They hate Pakistan at its core. Throughout their rallies they have been "dogwhistling" anti-Pakistan innuendos to their audience.
4/ But since end of 2018 and start of 2019, the dogwhistling has evolved into full blown disinformation. Exhibit A: #PTM claiming that terrorists killed in Hayatabad operation were just innocent laborers. 
5/ How many innocent laborers can afford to rent nice flats in areas like Hayatabad? Why did those innocent laborers have guns? how did untrained laborers fend off professional comandoes for 18 hrs? not to mention one of the arrested later confessed to involvement in terrorism.
6/ Exhibit B: PTM accusing Pakistan army of masterminding APS attack. It is noteworthy that this talking point/conspiracy theory originally started from pro-TTP circles after the attack turned public opinion strongly against them.
7/ Exhibit C: Pro-PTM accounts shared shared a video of a pashtun being denied entry into NESCOM hospital. I can't find that video again, but will sure post it when i can. @DesiLiberals facebook page did a good job thoroughly debunking the lies in that video.
@DesiLiberals 8/ Exhibit D: If that all wasn't enough, PTM social media team gave platform to a TTP terrorist who, once again, used that platform to accuse army of masterminding APS attack, along with regurgitating other #TTP #PTM propaganda.
@DesiLiberals 9/ Exhibit E: Who can forget Gulalai Ismail's speech during the Farishta Mohmand issue? She brought up a completely unsubstantiated allegation that "every second child in FATA is molested by army". She was slapped with defamation lawsuit over this, which she has absconded from.
@DesiLiberals 10/ Exhibit F: #Manzoor #Pashteen accuses the CONSTITUTION of Pakistan of being anti-Pashtoon. Again, not army. not some rogue officer. but the constitution itself.
@DesiLiberals 11/ Why is it anti pashtun according to him? because its democratic and doesn't give Pashtuns absolute legislative control of Pakistan, so he fears that his MPAs will be outvoted. Except getting outvoted once in a while is part of a healthy democracy.
@DesiLiberals 12/ But what do you do with a country whose constitution is anti-you? of course, you demand that they change the constitution or you demand separation from the country that runs on such constitution. This is not a dogwhistle. This is a clear policy statement.
@DesiLiberals 13/ Wherever I could give them benefit of doubt, I have. Exhibits I have mentioned so far in the thread are few examples of actions that could not possibly be "mistakes". They were DELIBERATE and MALICIOUS lies.
@DesiLiberals 14/ Not to mention that while PTM has raised hue and cry about arrests/persecution of voices that are critical of state, anti-PTM voices too are being violently suppressed. Malik Matorke is a prime example of people killed for raising voice against them.
@DesiLiberals 15/ #PTM has every intention of becoming a Mukti Bahini 2.0, and Manzoor Pashteen seems himself as the next Shaikh Mujeeb. If they were just about Pashtun rights, they would not need these outrageous lies. Through the lies, they are galvanizing their supporters for a civil war.
@DesiLiberals 16/ Missing persons don't matter to them. Naqeebullah doesn't matter to them. They were just stepping stones who have outlived their usefulness, so you hear less and less about them. And more about how Pakistan, as a country, is anti-Pashtun.
@DesiLiberals 17/17 So no, I do not want govt to #ReleaseManzoorPashteen. I want him to stand trial and be prosecuted for giving platform to actual TTP terrorists (let alone their sympathizers), for spreading malicious lies against Pakistan, and for inciting mutiny within army.
