Ted Cruz doesn't think anything or believe anything except that Ted Cruz and men like Ted Cruz should be in charge.

He doesn't think Hunter Biden or Joe Biden is guilty. He doesn't think Donald Trump is innocent.

He thinks Republicans should rule this country. That's it.
Asking him how he can say this or how he justifies that is pointless. There's no actual thought process behind it. What Ted Cruz says is whatever he perceives will extend Republican rule.

His long dark night of the soul in knuckling under to Trump was about who ruled the party.
He didn't sacrifice his principles when he sucked it up and started making calls for Trump and then carrying water for him in the Senate. He just gave up on his dream of personal power.

One of my plausible nightmare scenarios is that the Trump GOP ever more explicitly articulates their premise that Democratic leadership is bad for the country and that any action is justified to prevent it... threats, violence, forcible prevention of voting, etc.
If a president cannot be indicted for the assassination of a rival candidate (and current guidance from the DOJ, honored by the courts and congress, is that this is so) and if as Dershowitz maintains a president cannot be impeached for a crime taken to guarantee re-election...
...then there is no argument against a president assassinating the opposition except the moral one. Which fails in the case of no morals and in the case of a genuine belief that the other party represents an existential threat to the US or is somehow inherently immoral.

Big question, so I'm making a new thread.

I do not, and I don't think it's possible, short-term.

And part of that effect is Trump and part of it is his base and part of it is the way the media and electorate have been tuned by the GOP for decades.

Part of it is that Trump just does not care and will not stop until someone stops him. In many cases, PHYSICALLY. Stuff "sticks" to politicians because they acknowledge it, if not in the sense of "Yes, that's true. I resign." but they... pull back. Grow cautious.
"The Access Hollywood Tapes would have ended most politicians' campaigns." is an almost invisible use of passive construction. The truth is: most politicians would have ended their campaigns, figuring it's better to do it on their terms and cut their losses than fight and lose.

those are all troll factory/internet research agency accounts.
so pull the accounts that follow them.
you get all these shady looking accounts with the same stats.
drop the false positives, drop the duplicates. you get about 180 accounts worth looking at.
