Really interesting dispatch from @jim_newell from Iowa

slate.com/news-and-polit…
One point I've been thinking about today in light of electability arguments is about the front-line members in the House. A bunch have endorsed Biden and are campaigning for him. And I think it's fair to say a majority of those folks would like to see Biden win.
I've had conversations with members in those seats who haven't publicly endorsed who've said as much. But I also think it's important to keep in mind that the questions of "who at the top of the ticket does best in the 40 front-line seats" and who does best in the EC are distinct
Most of those frontline seats are suburban seats in non swing-states. In fact, I think there's probably a decent argument that Bloomberg might perform the best in those seats as the nominee. But that's a different question of who performs best in the electoral college.
One way to simplify thinking about the EC question is considering Wisconsin as the tipping point state and thinking who would perform best there. I don't think the answer is in any way clear of obvious.
In fact, in a deep sense it's literally not knowable. So vote for who you want to be the President, whoever that is, and let the chips fall where they may.
