1/ What are you doing @nathanielpopper @nytimes?

Opening sentence reads, "The last few months have not been good for #Bitcoin. The value of the digital tokens has steadily dropped (1/28/20)." In reality:

1-month: up 40%
3-months: flat
1-year: up ~3x

2/ Your sensational title includes "But Criminals Still Love It," but the body of the article later admits "illicit activity accounts for only 1 percent of all #Bitcoin transactions."

Again, what are you doing @nathanielpopper @nytimes? nytimes.com/2020/01/28/tec…
3/ This reminds me of the panel we did at the @Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research Conference, where you shocked me by spouting sensational half-truths about #Bitcoin to feed an audience pre-disposed to skepticism.

You didn't educate them Nathaniel, you misled them.
4/ I'm sad and peeved because I used to look up to you as a writer, Nathaniel. You wrote a great book in Digital Gold, and it gets a lot of people into #crypto this day: amazon.com/Digital-Gold-B…
5/ Why would you have wasted your time writing a book about a topic you clearly dislike? Or at least your recent actions suggest you dislike $BTC, and if that's not true, then please stop misinforming people with clickbait & sensationalism. I expect better of you & the @nytimes
@nytimes (even if you dislike something, your ethics as a journalist for the @nytimes should prevent you from misinforming your readers - the headline alone of the aforementioned article is misrepresentative of the truth)
