(1/3) You have to truly stand back and marvel. The GOP controls the Senate. They can acquit the President, period. And they will, nothing Dems can do. Even though they can rig the end result, they STILL want to argue that witnesses and documents are not part of the trial process-
(2/3) - and they make that argument knowing 75% of the public wants witnesses and docs. This speaks clearly to their belief that the man they support is guilty, and they want to shortcut the process with no new information, so they can gaslight their morons and limit damage -
(3/3) - it also speaks to how strong his hold is on them, as they clearly acquiesce to secrecy and cover-up, hallmarks of Trump's lifetime of lies. Finally, the shamelessness of the arguments speak to how our country is being held hostage by a mental illness; beyond dangerous.
