In the classiest bit of fast food marketing possibly ever:

Left: McDonalds in Akihabara announces it is closing after 22 years.
Right: Burger King thanks them for 22 years of friendly rivalry and bringing smiles to the neighborhood.
Bottom left corner of the BK poster: "If you'd like to come reminisce about fun times at [that] McDonalds, bring a receipt from their shop to us within [a week after they close] and we'll give you a free small coffee."
It's so good, both from an instrumental effectiveness perspective and also from "Isn't this just *who we want to be*?"
Oh, *extremely* relevant to how the sign is read, which changes my opinion a bit:

The first characters in each line read "WE WON" if you read up-and-down rather than left-to-right.

Part of me wants to say "Ahh, double coding a message like that, I will acknowledge that that was clever" but it's now very much not the kind of clever that I will be praising to people in coming years.
