1. fantasy thread.

@AlboMP: Australians believe our democracy is failing because we can’t trust our big parties. The crisis of confidence in our political leadership must be addressed NOW.

Why? Because #AustraliaBurns means we must trust our governance to survive and thrive.
2. Labor didn’t promise a National Integrity Commission to investigate and expose corruption in federal politics - a #federalicac - at 2016 #ausvotes, and belatedly did last year but buried it.

Why? Because we’ve rorted too. And like our opponents, we too like to rort in Govt.
3. But that bipartisanship is over. We must, as a nation, act swiftly and comprehensively to clean up our politics & restore the people’s faith that they can live their lives knowing their Govt is acting in the national interest, not their own.

My guess, Govt worried about a class action by groups scammed by the Govt in the cause of the Libs-Nats self interest .

(2/n) Cotton production falls, cotton imports increase & govt starts worrying about the decrease in cotton belt. To incentivise cotton production, govt increases tariffs on cotton imports. Hoping, that this will increase demand for domestic cotton and cotton farmers will benefit.
(3/n) But this creates another problem. Textile exporters loose access to good quality/cheap cotton. Consequently, exports suffer. Govt cannot let this happen so comes up with a policy giving taxpayers' money in subsides to textile exporters to help them regain competitiveness.

Firstly, I had a look at the amounts of sports funding, approved by then Sports Minister @senbmckenzie, Australia-wide compared to population.

On a per capita basis, Northern Territory fared best, NSW fared worst

But, I really wanted to focus on Queensland to see if that may have been a contributing factor to the large swing to the Coalition in QLD.

It appears that some QLD federal seats fared better than others, particularly Coalitions seats!

So 2 devastating ideological agendas pursued by the Conservative govt at huge cost to British society & our most vulnerable.

Yet they continue.
This report should make extremely discomfiting reading for govt. Their response to date has been to attack the Rapporteurs criticising their policies.

Jeremy Hunt has appointed a “human rights ambassador” this week. Important for govt to remember human rights matter at home too.

Late yesterday, Friday 12 Oct 2018, Stu said he had repaid $37,975.00 regarding his internet expenditure charged to the taxpayer for home internet.

I decided to double-check Stu's figures, because quite frankly, I wouldn't trust Stu as far as I could throw him and I'm not real confident in the Finance Dept either, just quietly @MathiasCormann.
Stu was elected in 2007, MP for Fadden, QLD. He assumed office on 24 November 2007.

Robert served in both Abbott & Turnbull's Ministries, holding various portfolios including Minister for Human Services. Robert is currently Assistant Treasurer in the Morrison Ministry.
