If we lose the capacity as a nation to distinguish between spin and outright fabrication, then we're in a world of hurt. Cherry picking evidence is annoying but old hat...telling outright, easily falsifiable lies and being applauded for it is something else entirely.

Siri, show me how NOT to use history to make sense of the present.
I'm not saying that Sanders or Warren would definitely beat Trump, or that a moderate candidate wouldn't. I'm just saying that 2020 is not 1972.
In June of 1972 Gallup had Nixon's approval rating at 62% and his disapproval at 33%, a total of +29. Right now 538 has Trump at 44% approval, 52% disapprove, a total of -8.

Scoff if you will, but once you’ve witnessed Trump turn water into Diet Coke, you’ll change your tune.
And who can forget the time there were only 7 rolls of paper towels, but then he tossed out 500 rolls to the suffering people of Puerto Rico. I believe that story is in the Book of Kellyanne 15:32-39
And then there’s the inspirational story from the Gospel of Lindsey where Trump took a man who could once see and rendered him blind.

I am simply incapable of understanding how a single one of my fellow citizens could watch a performance like this and say with pride “now that’s my President!” It’s totally surreal.
Imagine being a Senator, at the pinnacle of your political career, and having to sit and watch this rambling, incoherent, self-pitying, menacingly vindictive speech and know that this is your party’s polestar, its inspirational leader chosen and beloved by your base.
If you were dropping your kid off at camp and the camp director gave a talk like this, you’d put the kid back in the car and go home. Instead of doing that, 62 million of my fellow citizens gave this guy the nuclear codes.

In advance of tonight's #SOTU, where POTUS will try to take credit for the state of the economy, check out the trend in the # of U.S. jobs (blue) and in POTUS's statements (green).

POTUS changed his talking point. The job growth trend, not so much.

Same story with unemployment rates. His talking point changed. The inherited trend, not so much.
POTUS will tell us about the # of jobs added since the 2016 election.

He will hide the fact that job growth has largely continued on the inherited trend, but slower.

I just finished reading* @SethAbramson's #proofofcollusion and conclusion of the book, looking forward, predicts a far more optimistic future than the one we are actually living in now.
He concludes that Trump will surely be impeached if the Democrats win the house and that at some point he will fall spectacularly from Grace when Mueller finishes his probe, because duh, this is America and we have laws here.
And while he recognizes the damage that the Trump presidency will have (has already had) on our country, his future projection is ultimately that of "surely, we will survive this intact"

The question here is how the Billions were appropriated. We must note here that Silos weren’t rented for storage. The grains were stored in FG Silos. So where did the billions go without due process? Are we being told re-bagging & logistics cost consumed the Billions he took?! 🤔
