I'm not saying that Sanders or Warren would definitely beat Trump, or that a moderate candidate wouldn't. I'm just saying that 2020 is not 1972.
In June of 1972 Gallup had Nixon's approval rating at 62% and his disapproval at 33%, a total of +29. Right now 538 has Trump at 44% approval, 52% disapprove, a total of -8.

Imagine it's Feb 2024, and Senator Booker goes on TV to brag about how President Biden is having his private attorney, Hillary Clinton, look into potential GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump Jr's corruption in India, and funneling what she finds directly to AG Kamala Harris.
Within hours the GOP would call for the immediate expulsion of Booker, the impeachment of Biden, the locking up of Hillary, and the removal of Harris.
The icing on this cake of Lindsey horribleness is that he drops in a line about how "the Russians are up to it again," in the midst of spouting Russian-derived disinformation that will possibly soon be amplified by "information" dug up by the Russians who recently hacked Burisma.

Seriously, Bannon’s got his own right wing mediasphere to inhabit. He does not need amplification or normalization amongst reality-based people. He’s a cynical, lying bullsh*t artist. We don’t need to understand him, we need to make him irrelevant.
Bannon is the Martin Shkreli or Elizabeth Holmes of politics. He’s a con artist, full stop. Whatever “success” he had is easily understood. Having him on your show just feeds his con.
