My diagnosis is that is observably very bad at running for president and has been since 1988.
This is just as a simple practical matter by the way, policy positions aside. There are some absolutely horrible presidents who were pretty good at the act of running for president, which is how they became president.

Most people who have *lost* presidential races are noticeably better at the act of running for president then Joe Biden, imo.
