To @CNN: this makes no sense.

There are basic math errors in the results. (Some favoring diff people.) This isn't about recounting. Takes 30 secs to see.

CNN is the press. There is no reason to defer to a party's press release. That's what reporting is.
@CNN How does it make sense for CNN to just accept a party's press release at face value?

CNN has money & a huge team. Why are they not asking their data analysts to go thru every line?

Heck, the EIGHT line (Adam 2) is already wrong!

Am I living in an alternative universe?
@CNN This is genuinely just beyond confounding & upsetting.

A couple of Twitter users like @jhobfoll I hadn't heard of 24 hrs ago have single-handedly done more care, hours, work, & research to report on the Iowa results than CNN seems to intend to instruct its entire team to do.

The IDP & DNC should state that the exact SDE results are unreliable, & cannot be used to allocate national delegates.

There is no "right" result to be discovered here.

It'd be a mirage of certainty or a performance of accuracy, like when polls pile on decimals.
Some reported results are verifiably incorrect but also uncorrectable. Turnout #s don't match. Too late to ask viable groups to not realign.

But this does NOT allow IDP to leave up correctable nonsense. 31 is not superior to 50; precincts can't will themselves extra delegates.
IDP's verifiably fantastical numbers cannot remain in a final result.

We can also no longer cling to conforming fantasy of a discoverable accurate result.

And here's the thing: thats doable. No practical need for one certain winner; & other solutions for pledged delegates.

Reply of IDP-defenders increasingly: IDP cannot change results they're given.

1) Why I asked #3: If that's IDP reply, they can disown reliability & ask results to not be reported as such.

2) It's preposterous for a results-reporting body to be bound to publish that 31 > 50.

This thread is lengthening, & there's a bunch more I wanted to verify, but I'm also discouraged. CNN indifferently broadcasts an incorrect press release to millions, while here we are on Twitter, where I imagine everyone seeing this must already have seen all of it by now.
I see some covering errors as "Sanders's side of the story," since he put out a press release with some.

1) Anyone can promptly verify (or rebut) any discrepancy on IDP page. This isn't about "sides". Not even all complex.

2) Some errors affect Pete too. See my thread.
I was getting discouraged, but loving some DMs I'm getting.

This is a good piece, but like the many I've read that have the exact same message/tone it just leaves me feeling profoundly alienated by the end

It feels so much like it's talking around the idea that "late capitalism" *changed what we wanted* more than just raising the price
Look, there's a bunch of really blatant facts I want people to engage with that they never do in these pieces:

1) Birth rate correlates *negatively* with income

This is true between countries, within countries, and across time periods

It's a nearly *universal* correlation
It isn't a paradox of some kind that the birthrate is super low in Denmark, with its wealth and robust social safety net

That's WHY the birthrate is low

All of the richest countries in the world with the richest people have the lowest birthrates

Recently the CONSERVE trial was cited on twitter as supporting use of CCTA b/c it showed that patients sent for ICA could undergo CCTA instead w/o an increase in events.

This is a non-inferiority trial but I can't make the math add up.

In a non-inferiority trial, we are testing whether ONE bound of the confidence interval for the primary endpoint crosses a non-inferiority margin.

Usually this is upper bound for MACE in cardiology trials showing new tx doesn't result in significantly more MACE than old tx.
There is much controversy over how much worse a tx can be before we think it is close enough.

Some trials have tested upper bounds of non-inferiority of as high 1.5 or even higher maybe.
