Jesse Armstrong and co. have perfected giving audiences a sense of false hope with #Succession that I don’t think we’ll see again. You give us what’s possibly the last moments of the siblings in good terms, only to tear them apart and leave them in the mud. What a series finale!
Roman might be the only one out of the core three who is actually free from trying to please their father. Kendall was right about something though, he didn’t want to be IT, and now he’s back to where his journey started; being a playboy billionaire who can do whatever he wants.
Shiv’s final decision is so interesting. She secured her children’s future but she’s doomed to see Tom live the life she wanted. She’s repeating her mom’s unhappy life married to a CEO, unsure if she wanted to have children to begin with, and be reduced to eye candy for Matsson.

I am on the Matsson side, it is chaotic and interesting whereas her deal with Tom seems very Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and contrived
Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I think both men are playing Shiv and she's largely unaware of how they know exactly what to tell her to flatter her ego. Matsson tells her she reminds him of her dad, and Shiv allies with him right away.

Haha, the other day I was taking a nap while @k_rupal was watching TV (I can sleep through anything) and the #Succession theme came on and I apparently rose groggily reaching for my phone. And she had to be like, not your phone. The actual music. Go to bed. 🤣🤣
This is indeed a great explanation by the composer. Contains Succession spoilers. But great to hear. And explains why the theme is a perfect alarm ring tone cos it's discordant and alarming by design. Brain just can't ignore it, even asleep.
Who would've thought that deliberately throwing in an off jarring note frequently would work so well in creating this sense of unease and foreboding that runs through the show. It's a satire that's a bit too real. Perfect score!
