Did you know when all eyes were on the Budget what @nsitharaman did to the #IndianRailways "budget"? She allotted the princely sum of Rs 1000 each to 274 projects in 2020-21! Just about enough to buy 10 packs of my cigarettes!
@nsitharaman Of these, 132 are for new line projects, 40 gauge conversion projects and 102 are track doubling projects. Every budget has been known to indulge in some tokenism, but this takes it to an entirely new level! Some focus on infra, this!

Powerful business czars usually prefer backroom channels to voice their grievances against govt. That usually works for them. What Bajaj says is a measure of the environment today. Yes there are precedents from the past that NaMo acolyte rhetoric tries to mask.
Many captains of industry have, however, spoken their mind, usually to express something that bothers them, but couched as reflecting a greater common good.The most obvious examples are those by influential IT industry honchos - Azim Premji and Narayana Murthy come to mind easily

This is a thread on the #FasTag fiasco - why the intentions are dubious and why it deserves to be classified as a scam
While the NaMo Govt would like us to believe that #FasTag is meant for the convenience of users, the real reasons appear to lie elsewhere - particularly the notoriously opaque revenue streams from road projects.
Road project concessionaires are known to not indulge in gross cost padding - which translates directly into higher tolls - but divert revenue streams away from their loan obligations, which has brought only grief to banks, especially PSBs

After unnecessarily changing the origin of the Yeshwantpur-Kannur Express to Banaswadi, #IndianRailways is annoying with the timing of the train.
It seems the YPR-CNR express has an extraordinary arrangement to come late every day. Just like yesterday, On Monday as well the authorities made passengers to wait for two hours in the chilling night in an under developed station. @RailMinIndia @PiyushGoyal @PiyushGoyalOffc
We reached the station at 7.45 pm for the train scheduled at 8.20 pm. At 8.40, they announced that the train is "running" late by an hour. No sign of train even at 9.40 pm. @GMSRailway @SWRRLY

Probably the easiest hustle I’ve ever had.

$150 or so for 4 hours of my Saturday morning. Most of it spent reading and watching the timer.

I did this about 10 times = $1500
2/ Baseball umpire / soccer referee

Could be the most fun hustle I’ve had.

Once my baseball career ended I wanted to be near the game.

I started with youth baseball and worked my way up to high school

$25/game x 25 games/year x 5 years = $3125
