I want to be on record that I stand with @RogerPielkeJr and against @skepticscience, as I stand against this action of making blacklists and attacks on scientists' careers. 1/9
Look, this is for all the fellow meteorologists, climatologists, and atmospheric scientists that follow this feed. We can all disagree on climate, weather forecasts, theories, and the rest. We can disagree on whether climate projections are realistic or not. 2/9
We can debate how best to improve our ways of developing energy and what is the most realistic path from going from point A to point B. 3/9
What we can NOT do is stand silent while a group of self-righteous individuals decides who should and should not have a voice in our community. This is not the atmospheric science community I love. Frankly, this isn't even acceptable in any other scientific discipline. 4/9
Whether you think climate change is manageable or needs drastic political intervention. We all must stop this now! Remember, if they can do this to @curryja or @RogerPielkeJr , what makes you think they won't do it to you for slightly disagree with them. 5/9
These people are not some blogger with a rant. These people have fundamentally enhanced our science. They are leaders and chairs at universities. The focused attack on them is chilling and disturbing. 6/9
So I am speaking out now. As someone who gets death threats just because it didn't snow, I know what people like this can do. It's the same group think, "destroy what is not like me". They may have PhDs but they are no different than some threatening twitter troll. 7/9
I just simply hope that the atmospheric scientists that follow me take notice. I am not asking you to agree with me on atmospheric science. 8/9
I am asking you to agree with me, that we should be better than the insecure individuals that need to destroy people who disagree with them. Remember, today it is @curryja , @RogerPielkeJr , and @RogerAPielkeSr , tomorrow it will be you. 9/9
