Bernie desperately needs to not fall into the Corbyn trap of lefty ritualism. He doesnt have move an inch on any of his values or policies but he needs to come across as a normie, a patriotic American. Activist-speak is a filter for the well educated, not the broad working class.
It's not popular on Twitter but a big reason Mayor Pete has support is his normie values of hope, hard work, opportunity, and service. Doesn't matter if it's a fair reflection of his biography but that message is what resonates.
It's also not popular on Twitter, but the Bernie idea of simply turning out "new voters" has little ROI. The same model was applied for Labour in the UK & Beto's Texas Senate race (same consultants!) and didn't work, and turnout figures suggest very few new voters are showing up.
