When someone accuses another not living in the U.S. of being CIA or whichever other alphabet agency the point is to smear their reputation but most importantly flag them so whichever country they are in can prosecute, torture, or surveil them. It's a common tactic among fascists.
If you live in the U.S. or any of the five eyes, these types of accusations do not register beyond simple smears, but for the rest of us, activists and journalists alike, operating outside of the five eyes, thoughtless smears online can lead to serious harm and even death.
We may laugh at these accusations, for us, it's beyond parody that this account is still active and we haven't been hurt yet. However, others are not so lucky & many have been imprisoned or killed because idiot westerners engage in false accusations disconnected from our reality.
