The Taliban and I go way back.
The concept of the talibs has changed little. Nationalist orthodox Deobandi hillbillies that are factionalized in war and completely unmanageable in peace. The brutal history in the north will split them and Pakistan will still control their structure.
Remember the Beach talibs in Qatar worked with us in 2001 and were let out of Gitmo. Most have not been in the country for years. We aren’t even pulling our troops out. But like The Wall it’s an empty talking point for the election.
What is a lasting peace? A federalized constitution and removal of the inefficient central government created by foreigners to prevent the talibs from voting their candidates into office
