The latest example of what seems a cast iron law of Brexit - any example of Brussels not behaving or communicating well will quickly become some ridiculous jingoistic article usually in the Telegraph to be shared with glee by Brexit ultras. And here we are telegraph.co.uk/business/2020/…
"You cannot negotiate with these people" is just tough given we are surrounded by them. And if you think the US is easier to negotiate with you've presumably never heard of President Trump.
This article is particularly good as it includes almost a top ten of every Brexiteers objection to the EU, the Euro, Italian corruption, German hypocrisy on climate change, outdated EU laws and so on... what terrible people we are supposed to think...
The serious point is that the UK stands no chance of coming together when this sort of nonsense is taken seriously. If Brexit can't stop the anti-EU voices then inevitably others will feel the need the defend the EU. And thus the centre continues to wither. Is that what we want?
