Publishers will work with authors to promote their work but your own engagement and outreach to your networks can have a massive impact.
Diff publishers offer diff policies on free eprints, T&F offers 50 free eprints for each author and coauthor when published. Share this link with your networks or on social media or put in your email signature
Also utilize your department or institution's website or PR teams to promote your work. Is yr research trending in the news, speak with your institutions press office for further promotion. Blog about your work for a wider and more public readership
Social media is driving readership of academic content. 7/10 of the most important factors in search engine optimization are from social media. Discussing yr work could lead to it being picked up by journalists also on social media
Using @LinkedIn ? Keep your page up to date and utilize their networks, supplemental material, badges, and share links to your work there
@LinkedIn If your article includes supplemental material there are ways to further promote yourself with it, providing readers with another route to finding your research. These include audio, video, data, etc--great multimedia options available in publishing!
@LinkedIn For ex., you can submit your abstract as a video. It will be published alongside text and can make your research more personal and public facing. You can share the video through previously mentioned channels. Don't worry, you don't have to be in the video :)
