The Niskanen Center, El Paso County, Border Network for Human Rights, and @ProtctDemocracy filed an amicus brief (in a case brought by several states and NGOs) to continue the fight against Trump’s attempt to override Congressional authority to fund his #BorderWall. 
We argue that the lower court was correct in holding that Trump cannot legally spend the $3.6B Congress appropriated for military construction funds...because the border wall is neither a “military construction project” nor is “necessary to support use of the armed forces.”
The brief added that spending these funds on the border wall is illegal because #Congress provided that no funds were to be spent on the border wall beyond the $1.375 billion that was appropriated specifically for that purpose.
In taking this funding for his border wall, the president is disregarding the Constitution, sidestepping Congressional authority, and spending valuable American resources on a pet project. We won’t let it happen without a fight.
