Woman next to me in this cafe was crying

Just got off a phone call and was upset

I said to her: “excuse me, are you okay?”

She said “no, just lost my job”

We talked for 20 mins, discussed her options going forward and I even made her laugh

She left with a smile on her face
Point of the story: if you see someone alone who’s clearly having a rough time, ask them if they’re doing okay. Reassure them everything is going to be ok.

Your smile and kind words are more powerful than you think...
What if that upset person was your son or daughter? All alone....

You’d want a kind stranger to reach out and try to help

You wouldn’t want them to feel helpless and alone..
