My mom has Type 2 diabetes. Fortunately, she isn't insulin-dependent. But she went without insurance for years because she couldn't afford it. Late last year my dad told me we had to figure out a way to make the payments because "I don't want to lose my wife."
We figured it out and got her on an Obamacare plan, so crisis averted. Lucky us? Maybe Chris Matthews would like to chip in if something goes south
I hate relating everything back to my own personal experience but it is so clear, every single day, how few professional pundits and political journalists have any idea what it's like to worry about this. And it makes me sick sometimes, it really does.
being in the UK and using the NHS remains the first and only experience I've had with a health care system that viewed me as a human being instead of a walking financial liability
