Dear Doctor,

Its another Monday, You are a doctor, not Voltron. Even Superman died.

An Estimated 300-400 doctors kill themselves every year.
Lets talk about Physician Burn out..

A THREAD.....
Here are three quick ways to identiy Burn out:

📍Exhaustion – you are dog-tired on one or more of the three levels – Energy, Emotion, Spirit

📍Cynicism – you have lost your ability to care, empathize, and connect with your patients, staff and co-workers.
📍Doubt – you may begin to doubt that your work really makes any difference or question the quality of what you do (this is a late and inconsistent symptom that is nearly absent in men)
Everyone in every workplace is actually at risk for professional burnout.

The healthcare environment is especially stressful because of the nature of the work.
Here are other signs of burn out :

📌Feeling tired and drained most of the time.

📌Tiredness that does not respond to adequate rest.

📌Lowered immunity, feeling sick a lot.

📌Frequent headaches, back pain, muscle aches.

📌Change in appetite or sleep
How do you cope with burn out:

⏩Optimize meaning in work. ...

🚫Avoid overcommitment. ...

⬇️Reduce work-home conflicts. ...

🛫Take vacation. ...

🏋️‍♂️Exercise. ...

📞Build relationships. ...

🤸‍♂️Avoid delayed gratification. ...

⏲Reduce hours.
