NEW/ Exclusive:

Government has just told BBC that Coronavirus/COVID19 is to be formally registered as a "notifiable disease", after our enquiry about concerned English businesses unable to claim losses related to outbreak on insurance policies...
BBC learnt yesterday business groups expressed concerns directly to UK Govt at meeting with Defra, as Scottish Government had already made Coronavirus notifiable last month. The @Foodanddrinkfed described the lack of notification as "ludicrous". Wasn't in yesterdays action plan.
We also spoke to a range of small businesses who had been told by insurers that the policy doesn't kick in until a Government puts a disease on the notifiable list, alongside SARS, measles, plague etc. Also now compulsory under 1984 act for doctors to notify even suspected cases.

PSA long said that No Deal would threaten its planned investment in new Astra at Ellesmere Port. Govt argues that No Deal not now possible after deal. But now the PSA boss Tavares confirms that the investment is on hold until he knows if there’s going to be tariffs...
Ie Number 10 might argue that after Withdrawal Deal done there is no such thing as No Deal... but in this significant example of inward investment it is whether we ultimately leave on WTO terms, whether you call that no deal or no trade deal, or Australia, that matters... /2
But this, I think, is new - a suggestion about compensation for tariffs... can’t see how that would be WTO compliant -

Would have loved to have heard G7 call. Presumably Mnuchin backing Trump’s call for Fed to cut... perhaps wanted some G7 cover for that..maybe Italians want ECB too as well. Does pressure from White House make it more difficult for others to acquiesce?

Last Friday night as the world was lighting candles, I lit one too and put it in my yard. While doing so, I was encouraged to see that there were a few other candles in a dominantly Trump neighborhood where I had expected to see NO CANDLES and have NO support.
I assumed that the neighbor, Pete, a Trump would harass and ridicule me again for my little candle. I was prepared for that and more likely than not for the disappearance of my candle.
Since before Trump took office Pete and I have gone round and round. Signs have disappeared from my yard and I have been unable to step outside without some version of Trump rhetoric being spewed out for all to hear.

I cannot recommend highly enough last night’s #Newsnight investigation into links between the far right AfD and Russia. Bravo @ggatehouse.

Absolutely worth 15 mins of your time. Especially worth it for @Jacob_Rees_Mogg who likes to amplify their tweets.

As a taster, memo between high ranking Russian officials reads:

Elections to the Bundestag: Markus Frohnmaier.

Chances of being elected to the Bundestag: high.

Required: support in the election campaign.

Result: We will have our own absolutely controlled MP in the Bundestag.
The casual nature of such conversations and the fact undermining the EU is Putin's top priority, make the answer to "did Russia interfere with the EU referendum" so obvious as to be res ipsa loquitur, in my view. Only worthwhile queries are "how extensively and how effectively".
