Here’s Arron Banks in February 2017 admitting this offence to me & defending his right to use the data in this way. I’d received an email for an event advertising his friend Jim Mellon’s investment show after signing up for LeaveEU updates..
But Banks has spent months & months searching for a loophole to challenge the ICO on something he *literally admitted* in an interview. Sound familiar?

The govt has taken zero steps to warn elderly & at risk. It really is up to all of us to urge them to stay home & keep safe. This may focus the mind. Latest Italian guidelines on how to allocate ICU beds. ‘It may be necessary to place an age limit on entry’
I have no insight into whether or not this is correct. If it is & this government believes this is the way to communicate crucial public health info, we should be very very worried

Sporting bodies made their own decisions & called off events. And the govt was forced to follow. The idea that we have to take as read their high-risk untested strategy based on unknown data followed by no other country is nuts. We must keep questioning

Even NHS is breaking ranks. This is my local surgery. It’s taken a unilateral decision to ban in-patient visits until after phone consultation. This is not following government advice but it’s balancing risks to staff & vulnerable patients in absence of govt leadership

STM Fidecs Ltd was the first to register Leave.EU as a wholly owned subsidiary. Its ownership then passed to Banks.

🔑Banks was previously a “substantial” shareholder in the firm’s parent company.

📌And the Panama Papers give further details of Banks’s offshore interests. He is listed as a shareholder of PRI Holdings, together with two other people.

PRI Holdings is based in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), a UK offshore territory & int’l tax haven.

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers
