The commands Christ gives to care for the poor and the vulnerable was, of course, a charge to Christians—done freely with the power of the Holy Spirit. It was not a charge to delegate this responsibility to the government by way of oppressive taxation.
In addition from terrible theology, she obviously shows astounding historical & constitutional ignorance. She is advocating for forcing Christians, Muslims, etc. who believe in traditional gender/marriage to contradict their beliefs for fear of gov punishment. Sound good?
Of course it doesn’t— because it’s that kind of persecution that has defined every totalitarian nation that’s ever existed. It’s fundamental to all liberty. You can’t have any freedom of any kind without it.
