A Klobuchar aide sent me their latest tracking poll. She didn't drop out bc of fears of losing MN. Here's where they had her internally back home:

Klobuchar 32 (+3 since 2/20)
Sanders 19 (even since 2/20)
Biden 15 (+7)
Bloomberg 9 (+1)
Warren 8 (-2)
All internal tracking polls should be taken with a grain of salt. The point is, campaigns do make decisions based on them, and this was not a data point that militated toward dropping out. So the drop out was for other (obvious) reasons.
Oh and Buttigieg had dropped from 6% in February to 1%
All of Biden’s surge here seems to come from Pete and Warren people

Undecided only dropped from 13 to 12

New and rather horrifying story:

When two judges knocked down sentences to protect immigrants from deportation, Amy Klobuchar’s office used its scarce resources to appeal, winning split decisions interc.pt/2I7HC4Z
In one case, a permanent resident didn't list income from a second job and got extra benefits and food stamps. The judge gave him a 364 day stayed sentence so that it wouldn't lead to deportation.

Klobuchar appealed and pushed for 2 extra days to be added, to make it a felony
In the other case, a guy was caught selling weed, got a felony conviction and a stay of imposition for good behavior. It was then reduced to a misdemeanor for the good behavior. He thought he was in the clear and years later traveled abroad. When returning through Miami, he...

(DELEGATE TRACKER) As Warren weighs the future of her campaign, the delegate count has thus far awarded her 50 delegates—and counting—from CA, CO, IA, ME, MA, MN, NC, TN and VA, with likely new allotments from AR, OK, TX and UT pending. Her chief rival—Bloomberg—just dropped out.
PS/ The problem for Warren: 15% remains the threshold for viability in upcoming primaries. She's between 9% and 11% in the tiny amount of polling in the March 10 and March 17 states, though this was with 4 now-gone candidates still in: Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Klobuchar, and Steyer.
PS2/ Presumably, the assessment being made by Warren today is whether she can get 5% to 7% of the 25% to 33% of the total vote in upcoming states represented by the now-departed Bloomberg, Buttigieg, Klobuchar and Steyer. That's a tough assessment—and it's unclear how to make it.

As I first wrote several weeks ago would happen, the Democratic debates have restructured the polling, putting, as I predicted, @KamalaHarris and @ewarren within striking distance of @JoeBiden.

Biden 22%
Harris 17%
Warren 15%
Sanders 14%
Buttigieg 4%

Months of assertions that #Biden was "inevitable" have been eviscerated. Unable to stand up to #Harris at the debates, Biden appeared tired, confused and unprepared, despite having been kept away from major events for weeks by his handlers. Harris has been campaigning daily.
#Warren won the first debate handily, with only @JulianCastro and @CoryBooker offering any other strong moments in the two hour debate.
The new rankings put #Harris and Warren in the lead for most electable and many are already talking about Harris/Warren as the 2020 ticket.
