As voters across America head to the polls this #SuperTuesday, a few words on why I believe @BernieSanders will be the best president for #LGBTQ folks. 👇🏾
I’m proud to be an ally in the movement for LGBTQ equality – fighting FOR marriage equality and AGAINST anti-trans bills in Washington State & speaking out for trans equality in Congress.

And I’m the very proud mom of a fabulous non-binary child.

For me, this is personal.
For my kid – and all our LGBTQ kids, friends & family – I want a president who is authentic and consistent on equality, even when it’s not popular.

That president is @BernieSanders.
In 1983, @BernieSanders, as mayor of Burlington, signed a Gay Pride proclamation calling gay rights a civil rights issue.

In 1993, Bernie voted against Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

And in 1996, Bernie voted against DOMA. (And btw he’s the ONLY 2020 candidate who voted against DOMA).
When he’s elected President, @BernieSanders will repeal Trump’s ban on trans people serving in the military.

He’ll reinstate DACA, protecting thousands of queer Dreamers.

And Bernie and I will push for #MedicareForAll to ensure LGBTQ folks get the care they need.
From California to Illinois to North Carolina, I’ve seen the enthusiasm on the ground for @BernieSanders – especially among young queer folks who feel seen, empowered & included by his campaign.

They know he will take on the deep, structural problems that our communities face.
The kind of change we seek – undoing the damage Trump has done and pushing forward a bold, pro-equality, progressive agenda that works for all of us – will take a movement.

A movement inspired and led by @BernieSanders.
