Emphasizes health care -- protection of ACA pre-existing condition protections, Medicaid expansion. This was also a big part of her campaign.

Also: "The Obama-Biden" auto industry rescue.
More on health care: Emphasizes common thread between Biden and Sanders, both trying to expand coverage. Then pivots to "Obama-Biden" record, including passage and defense of ACA:

"When the chips were down, they had our back."
Auto industry reference is noteworthy.

GM/Chrysler rescue was a huge, still under-appreciated factor in Obama's 2012 reelection.

Could it help Biden in 2020? It's been a while, may be less effective when Romney isn't opponent.

Still, there may be some residual good will.
Now getting questions about trade and Biden's support for past agreements.

Keep in mind that Sanders' opposition to free trade agreements almost certainly was a factor in his surprise 2016 primary win here.
Some potentially relevant context on Biden & the ACA...

Right before 2018 election, Biden lavished praise on Republican Fred Upton, key architect of GOP repeal strategy.

In case you missed it yesterday -- say, because you were watching the impeachment vote -- a federal appeals court ruled that the ACA's individual mandate is unconstitutional.

As you'll remember, this lawsuit claims Trump & the Republican Congress introduced a fatal constitutional flaw into the 2010 health care law when they reduced the "individual mandate" penalty to zero.

The claim is absurd. (2)

2. Remember, with M4A, health care spending shifts from individuals and employers (no more premiums & copays) over to the federal government.

Key questions:

(a) What does new program cost?
(b) Where does gov't get the money?
(c) Who comes out ahead, who doesn't?
3. On (a) -- how much it costs -- Warren envisions a program that would require $20T in new fed spending over the next decade. A lot of money, though substantially less than some other estimates have suggested M4A would require.

The aggressive collection tactics and underlying debt were subjects of now-famous investigative reporting by the great @WSJ reporter Lucette Lagnado, who died just a few months ago wsj.com/articles/SB104…

Another day. Another attempt by the Trump administration to repeal the #ACA.

After Rs campaigned on protecting the ACA’s pre-existing condition coverage, the administration has now taken the position that the entire ACA — preexisting condition protections and all — should go.
What does that mean for the American people?

❌ No more Medicaid expansion,
❌ No more guaranteed coverage for mental health and maternity care, and
❌ No more financial assistance to help people afford coverage.

Just to name a few.
The ACA is the law of the land. It’s working in #RhodeIsland and nationwide. The #Trump administration ought to accept its duty to defend it.
