1. We have gotten stuck in binary thinking in #Syria. Someone is either all good or all bad. When in reality it's much more complicated. Syria as nation state, equal, free, secular and democratic at peace is the US goal.
2. Destroying the Syrian Army is not necessarily in the US or Coalition's interest. We tried that in Iraq. It's really unwise. Any objective observer would conclude that Turkey has been engaged for years in neo-Ottoman imperial acts of aggression in the region. It must stop.

1. Am I correct that @SenSanders, as the #Vermont at-large House member, voted for 2001 #AUMF? It's my understanding that House member @RepBarbaraLee was the only member to vote no.
2. That's the vote that has us in #Afghanistan, #Syria and #Iraq and justified #Guantanamo. We all agree the 2002 AUMF for Iraq re-invasion was foolish. If we want to talk about that then we should talk about the fact that two of the folks who hid Saddam's nuke program are

.@BernieSanders "class" obsession doesn't really play in a country like the US that has billionaires who came from from what Bernie would call the working class. What we usually call regular Americans. @MikeBloomberg is self-made and proves Bernie's Marxist rhetoric is silly.
All we have to do is return to progressive tax system. A term that does not denote the political "Progressives." It means you tax the wealthy at higher rates. Based on economic theory. It brought the American Dream until the Koch Nightmare.
I rarely hear Bernie single out the Kochs. I could have missed it but I'm sensitive to them and think I would have remembered more times he went after them. I always says "the billionaires." To a revolutionary ideologue like Sanders, Bloomberg and Kochs are essentially the same.

Okay, let's make today an education day and tackle a complex topic: What is a "social construct."

If you don't study sociology or anthropology, it sounds like someone is saying "this is made up," and that's half-true, but much more complicated.
A social construct is a way people describe something or give it meaning to our complex human brains and societies.

For example, money is a social construct.

Gold bars and $50 bills physically exist, but they have value because we humans have decided they are valuable.
And you can say "well, a dollar bill is valuable because it's backed by gold." (It's not, but for the sake of example)

In the proper cynicism of anyone white and/or male (which, historically, is absolutely earned), I'm leery of trusting too much in white dudes with power. I've done a poor job in the past in choosing which guys to think highly of - I'm trying to be better.

So, Mr. Rogers.
I grew up in the era of Mr. Rogers, but I don't think I spent much time in his neighborhood. I grew up on Sesame Street, eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day while surrounded by puppets. I didn't think of Mr. Rogers at all until I worked at a christian bookstore.
While I was there, I read every book we had on the shelf. Well, at one point, at least. That's when I was told, repeatedly, that Mr. Rogers and his ethos had destroyed America. Never mind the fact that he was a minister - he was the wrong kind, and taught the anti-christ spirit.
