I agree with the governor's tone of telling people not to panic. BUT when 1,000 people are told to stay home due to one case and when a SOE is announced with less than 100 cases, it creates panic. The Governor is in a tight spot trying to contain the virus but also the panic.
My point is that the action of governments is what helps fuel the panic about #Coronavirus. Are all those steps a must? Possible. But doing those steps while telling people not to panic does not reduce much of the panic. Here is an idea for Cuomo: At every presser that he has
about Corona, his chart should show the amount of Corona cases in NY side by side with regular flu cases/deaths in NY. "But Yossi. Corona is MUCH worse than the regular flu." First there is not enough data for this. Secondly, let's say you sre correct. Ok, this is indeed why
the governor has pressers about Corona and not the regular flu; which is good. But adding up regular flu numbers side by side with Corona will help put a balance between the need to urge the public to take steps against Corona while not spreading panic about it either.
