On Friday 7/29 as a part of the 'week of action' an #Antifa connected group carried out a direct action against the general contractor building the training facility at a different worksite in #Atlanta.

7 arrests total for burglary, vandalism, and obstruction
All 7 are from out of state. 4 from Asheville, 2 from Brooklyn, and 1 from El Paso

Names - Sophia Aria, Abby Walter, Gina Dickhouse, Melanie Noyes, Gilian Maurer, Surya Raymond, Laurel Leckert

All are still listed as in jail, 9000$ bail set for each.
The only video is from left wing extremist propaganda outlet 'unicorn riot'.

It censors faces and does not show the arrests. Does show come confrontation between construction workers and the mob

Results from our survey of #FixAndFlip investors are in. The fix-and-flip market is clearly cracking: higher rates have shrunk the # of buyers + the # feasible deals. Buyers are also cautious about overpaying given falling prices (cutting into flipper margins).

COMMENTARY🧵->
#Atlanta flipper: “Much higher risk environment due to rising rates. Sellers still have not reset expectations from earlier this year, so acquisitions have essentially come to a halt.” (2/19)
#Baltimore flipper: “The market for fix and flip has turned. It is now a buyer's market and there are a lot of investors competing for the same property. I have put in several offers on a few properties that have good potential but have not been able to get the contract.” (3/19)

#Atlanta builder: “Someone turned out the lights on our sales in June!”
#Austin builder: “Sales have fallen off a cliff. We’re selling 1/3 of what we sold in March and April. Trades are more willing to negotiate pricing since market has adjusted significantly past 60 days.”

There is EXTREME violence and abuse happening to Black immigrants in @ICEgov custody in Georgia. In one instance, prison guards nearly broke a man's jaw while he was brushing his teeth.🧵
Several Black migrants were retaliated against for their support of a rally outside Folkston ICE Processing Center. Immediately following the rally, they were locked outside the prison for several hours in temps exceeding 80° F. One man, Allen, suffered an asthma attack.
Two days later, guards put Allen, Garsumo and another individual in "The Hole" (aka solitary confinement). For over a month, they have been restricted to 23 hours in a tiny cell with zero outside contact or interaction.

$83.83 for almost a full tank of #gas in southwest #Atlanta.

Nonetheless, we persist 🇺🇦
#gasprices Image
As of Tuesday morning, the average cost for a gallon of gas in the country is $4.17 per AAA. The current price is up approximately 10 cents from Monday and more than 50 cents from last week. Costs are expected to continue to rise throughout the year. usatoday.com/story/money/20…
The sanctions put on #Russia by the U.S. and #EuropeanUnion severely impacted Russia's ability to sell crude oil, one of the biggest determiners for gas prices. Since the country is one of the biggest energy suppliers, crude oil prices have dramatically risen.

What the hell is this. This legislation came out of nowhere 10 days ago. It appears on its face to prohibit municipalities from providing permanent housing to people experiencing homelessness.

Some state senator drove by encampments on the way to the capitol and decided the best thing he could do is to force them to sleep in the cars they don't have or in pillboxes instead of, you know, an actual apartment.
It prohibits spending more than $35,000 per unit on shelter, exclusive of land costs. Which is to say, it prohibits building an actual home within 100 miles of Atlanta.

It also treats Atlanta in fundamentally different ways than the rest of Georgia. Because white Republicans.

Home builder survey results are in for full month of December. Top themes: 1) Still a ton of demand for new homes. 2) Rampant construction material & labor shortages. 3) Bit of chatter on possible margin compression several quarters ahead. Market commentary to follow…

Neo-Nazis marching against abortion rights in #Chicago should come as a shock to no-one. From the Army of God's deadly attacks at the 1996 Olympics to the modern Alt-Right, white nationalists have a long + deadly history within the so-called pro-life movement.
As Planned Parenthood clinics are set on fire in #Tennesee + reproductive rights are attacked across the US, its important to look at the role of the militant wing of the pro-life movement - of which white nationalists have long found a home. washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/0…
In the 1990s, the white supremacist and neo-Nazi ideology of "Christian Identity" grew and came to influence both a new generation of paramilitary groups and also radical anti-abortion activists. One such group, the Army of God, would carry out a string murders + bombings.

This isn’t about the political leadership in #Atlanta, this isn’t about @mooreforatlanta or @andreforatlanta but this is about the “culture” of Atlanta, but more notably who or what influences and shapes the political scene in the city. It’s a sad state of affairs when rappers
and “influencers” can make rumors of closing strip clubs a hot button issue days before a run-off election and people begin to base the choice of their elected official off of this “issue.” It’s about time we reassess this “culture” or whatever it is we would like to call this
blatant promotion of degeneracy that continues the cycle of negativity with Black people in Black communities. Four years ago with the election of our current mayor, the phrase you could hear being said from Bankhead to Buckhead was, “we have a mayor named Keisha.” Now four years

Monthly pulse of resale housing market still rapid according to 4,500 agents we just surveyed. Top 3 themes: 1) Bit of market normalizing. 2) Skittish sellers fearing nowhere to move. 3) End of travel ban boosting international buyers. Commentary across the country to follow…
#Houston resale agent: “A lot of people are not listing because they don't know where they are going next. Seems that many people listed too high even for a sellers' market, so I am seeing more price reductions now than earlier in the year.”
#Orlando resale agent: “Our buyer pool is increasing. We see more buyers from the north connecting with us as they plan to visit the area from the fourth quarter to the first quarter of next year.”

Fresh October home builder survey results. Top themes: 1) Builders are finally lifting sales caps (though not all). 2) Lack of lots & land development delays will hold back growth in 2022. 3) Most builders expect prices to keep rising. Market commentary to follow…
#ColoradoSprings builder: “One cautious trend to watch is single-family rental businesses paying more for land than builders. This will suck up trade capacity & supply at a time we can't afford it.”
#Denver builder: “Traffic & sales definitely slowing down, but also following a more seasonal pattern as compared to 2020. Resale inventory is still historically low. Rents are skyrocketing again.”
