BTW, the intimidatory measures wc the Ethio-govt seems trying to take against #OMN is reminiscence of an old Oromo metaphorical tale abt a story of a greedy carnivorous (a hyena) & its fait-accompli prey from herbivorous growth within the animals’ food chain(a donkey): 1/

The story goes as follows:

One fateful day, these two animals met while sharing one river stream from wc they both had to drink water to quench their thirst. The greedy hyena was drinking water from the upper stream of the river while the donkey was drinking from down stream. 2/

In what appeared to be a sinisterly planned/pursued provocation to launch attacks against the donkey at the lower stream course of the river, the hyena went on mudding the river water, essentially depriving the donkey of a chance to get un-muddied drinkable water at the down...3/

...stream side of the river course. As if doing that wasn’t enough, the greedy hyena came out outrightly blaming the poor donkey for the very destructive action undertaken by the hyena itself, i.e., mudding the river water at the upper stream of the river course. 4/

With this, the hyena then went on intimating the donkey against which it wanted to launch attacks claiming that the later is responsible for mudding the river water, thereby depriving the former of un-muddied drinkable water from the river course. 5/

Realizing the sinisterly intention of the greedy hyena, the donkey challenged it by referring to one of the indisputably established laws of Mother Nature—that water can’t flow agnst gravity,& hence river waters never stream in a down-upwards way along the slop of river course;6/

...& that the greedy hyena shouldn’t go for false allegations to hunt & destroy the unlucky prey at its disposal (z donkey).The Oromo mythological story however doesn’t say more about the fate of the wisdom-driven donkey, at least in this particular case, after it did unpack...7/

...the true intention of the nasty scavenging carnivorous known among the whole of the animal kingdom.

Govt, our nervous carnivorous wc had long been preying on free press in the country’s media sector, shouldn’t bring the self-defeating argument “water flows against gravity” as an allegation to launch crackdown on the OMN & other free & independent media outlets. END.
