Do you know what the absolute most savviest thing the GOP could do right now? The most winningest move they could pull?

Introduce Medicare 4 All. Right now. Crib it together from Democratic attempts lying around.
It's a very popular measure that is currently losing the Democratic primary despite being widely favored as a policy, in large part because of GOP-led smear campaigns against those who champion it from the left.
The right base has shown time and time again the truth of "Nixon Can Go To China" - they will distrust anything and everything those pinko communist red liberal socialist nazi democrats pull, but if our guy does it, he checked it out and it's fine.
They fold the whole thing into their existing narrative on "repealing and replacing ObamaCare with something better". Trump gets to talk about how "Nobody could make Medicare 4 All happen. They tried. They tried for years. Only I could do it."
It would leave the Democrats in disarray heading into November, make the GOP healthcare heroes as we settle into pandemic outbreaks.

Just drop it like a bombshell, knowing Big Business interests are in trouble either way.

Sometime, just for fun, look up what Orson Welles was doing during the Great Depression.

It's not that we can't do this here. It's that generations of conservative politicians have convinced us we shouldn't.
The right says that want to "make America great again"... we once had a federally funded theater program that brought people art and culture and the news of the day for very little in federal funding, and helped provide employment to actors, artists, laborers...
... even temporarily displaced professionals could get a job in the theater crew.

The right talks about the dignity of work but isn't interested in supplying either work nor dignity.

Most were calling it "the Wuhan virus" before there was another name to call it, when the only thing most people knew about it was where it had first been found.

Now it's everywhere and it has an official name. So why are people still emphasizing its origin? Racism. HTH.
The fact that emphasizing its point of known origin resulted in widespread acts of anti-Asian racism and muddied the waters on actual containment and prevention means we might think about not doing that with future outbreaks, even temporarily.
When we've got a president and his staff who are ignoring detection and containment in favor of propping up xenophobic faux fixes like travel bans who repeatedly emphasize it as "foreign" and "Chinese", how do you miss the racist undertones, @Cernovich?

This isn't hysteria, this isn't overreaction, this isn't politicizing the virus. We're not rooting for Trump to fail. We're cursing the fact that he chose to fail.
I don't know how much wiggle room we have to turn this around, but if the shock of these numbers spurred the Trump administration into action and we get testing up to speed and get social distancing and we avoid that fate I wouldn't care that I'd look "silly".
No one *wants* Trump to fail this. He's doing it on his own, against the crucial advice of the people he thinks are trying to sabotage him.

1. The founders believed that the synergy of free, informed individuals with three independent branches of government would make democracy thrive. They didn't consider that the synergy of a campaign, a foreign power and a complicit majority party could destroy democracy.
2. The knew a free press was integral to our success, but they couldn't have envisioned the mass spread of propaganda - spawned and disseminated by foreign entities - through social media. Nor could they anticipate a major news network becoming a propaganda arm of the WH.
3. Further, they didn't likely imagine that our country would become so powerful that the choices of a rogue administration could inflict significant and lasting damage on a global scale - impacting economies, alliances and stability. Yet, here we are.

We have worked hard to rebuild trust on our presidential process. Rules and Bylaws Cttee working with early states on rules. A key rule change ends superdelegates voting 1st round absent consensus candidate BUT elected officials can still be PLEOs & not run against constituents.
The PLEO Party Leader Elected Official designation is for pledged delegates who are Members of Congress Governors etc who want a first round #DNC convention vote but don’t want to run against activist to get there.
