1. People need to understand that it is Trump’s policy not to test. This is not a stated policy, he lies about it, but it is a sort of Soviet style approach worked through the bureaucracy.
2. During the Obama administration they used Soviet tactics on the lack of foreclosure mitigation and Wall Street prosecutions. You could never find a specific statement on their goal but it was clear in all the details.
3. The reason for Soviet-style policy is to prevent public debate. So people ask ‘how is there not testing’ instead of ‘why don’t you make the decision to test?!?’
4. American journalists are not set up for Soviet policymaking. They have to prove there are lies before asserting it, so a bureaucracy based on a big systemic lie can’t be covered accurately.
5. No one ever reporter ‘the Obama administration’s amnesty for Wall Street came under fire today/the Obama administration’s decision to have mass foreclosure took heat today.’ Same with #coronavirus testing. Soviet policymaking.
