We know the COVID-19 crisis feels like it changes by the hour. It’s been a sobering week, but we saw signs today that every level of government is putting more into this fight.
Here are the latest updates on COVID-19 in New York City:

As of today we have 154 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. We have 29 people in mandatory quarantine and 1,747 in voluntary isolation.
I know there's tremendous concern among parents, students, staff and caregivers about our public schools and whether they remain open.
I spent 17 years as a New York City public school parent. I understand the anxiety. But I also know how many parents are depending on us keeping our schools open.
Even with all the shock of the last two days, well over 600,000 students came to school today. We are taking new steps to make sure students and staff are safe by increasing social distancing.
Those kids and their families are counting on our public schools to be there. Parents who work as first responders and health care workers depend on our schools so they can be out on the front lines of this crisis.
We MUST protect our schools, our transit system and especially our health care system and our health care workers.

We have the biggest and best health care system in America — and we’re making sure it’s ready for what’s ahead.
We saw some fresh help from the federal government. The President's emergency declaration is promising.

The @US_FDA has approved one company to create faster, automated testing.

Automation could allow us to test in the thousands. We need more companies to be approved.
We have a request in to the FDA for 2.2 million more N95 masks from the strategic stockpile.

We can report right now that @NYCHealthy has 16 million surgical masks in their emergency stockpile and should be getting 25 million more in the next two weeks.
There was some misinformation spread earlier today that suggested the NYPD was being denied masks. This is NOT TRUE.

I spoke with @NYPDShea today and we are delivering 250,000 more masks. Anything the NYPD needs they will GET.
If you're feeling anxious or upset by everything happening right now, you’re not alone. If you need someone to talk to, call 1-888-NYC-Well. Trained counselors are there for you.
Please continue to monitor nyc.gov/coronavirus and text COVID to 692-692 for more updates.

I can't thank New Yorkers enough. This is an extraordinarily difficult time and you've risen to the challenge.
