A friend went to the grocery store yesterday, and thanked a middle aged cashier for being there.
The cashier then started sobbing, because she didn’t really want to be there. She probably wanted to be safe at home.

2/ Retail workers are essential workers, that are greatly undervalued by society.
This person, probably making minimum wage and trekking in to work in a wealthy suburb, HAD to work.
If she didn’t, her livelihood would be impacted.
We couldn’t get essentials.

Politicians and conservatives fight to suppress their wages, weaken their workplace security, and generally treat them as disposable.
They do the same thing with nurses, healthcare workers, teachers, and other frontline workers.
Until an emergency.

Then forget about it a year later, and resume their attacks.
