UPDATE: On Sunday, I reported @Kroger didn't provide paid sick leave to all its workers

Today, Kroger responded, saying my reporting "only serves to divide people at a time when we should all be pulling together to manage this public health crisis"

Respectfully, I disagree.

I care about @Kroger workers and am reporting accurately on their working conditions.

It's an effort to impose PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY.

I'd also add that saying that some of @Kroger's employee don't get paid sick leave is not a "perspective," it is a FACT.

Cut Seven is an amazing DC gym bootstrapped by a local couple. It took them 7 years to start. Then they had to shut down.

They are now working to keep their business alive. They have continued to pay all their employees. But they need help to keep going.

Trump just signed what people are calling a $2 trillion stimulus bill (but is actually $6 trillion or more.)

Corporate lobbyists are resourced to take advantage of chaotic situations like this and working people are not.

That's reflected in the substance of this package.
We needed to do something, and this is something.

But the choice wasn't between this and nothing.

Average Americans are getting $1200, which will go fast.

Corporate America is getting a $4 trillion slush fund that can be used at Mnuchin's discretion. Few real checks.
There are some other good things in the package. The unemployment expansion will help people for the next few months.

The small business provision is good if it can be administered properly.

But most of the bulk of the cash will ultimately go to corporations, not people

This fact check also uncovered that Amazon's claim that they are required by the Emergency Assistance Foundation to accept donations from the public was FALSE
In other words, Amazon has been lying to journalists to convince them not to write about this story.

Good to hear that @SpeakerPelosi is working on new stimulus package. The question for progressives to decide where is the line in the sand when it comes to #musthave markers in this package.

$2 is not hazard pay. A “special bonus” relative to individual store sales is not hazard pay. Workers are falling ill across the country to keep shelves stocked and communities fed.

Trader Joe’s — a so-called “progressive” company — still refuses to give its workers hazard pay.
1. High risk workers (elderly, immunocompromised or living with) are forced between working in a high exposure situation or sacrificing wages to stay alive
