Coronavirus: Cheltenham staff had symptoms while working at racing festival & numerous punters say they have had typical #CV19 symptoms -

dry cough, fever, headache, shortness of breath.

Feels as if “Ran over by a bus/ been in a washing machine”

I’ve been waiting for this. Kept myself indoors but it makes me wonder how much is around the town now, given punters were put up all around the town and beyond in people’s homes.

Numerous reports.
Similar reports to Stephen Powers’ below from other attendees.
Given that it is really REALLY important that we know the extent to which crowded events like these help spread the virus far and wide, including for any movement out of a shut down...
SURELY @CMO_England there should be a website where people can systematically record name, DOB, Tel number, symptoms, dates, event location, details of other people known to share the same symptoms.

So even if your test capacity is low there is SOME sort of data to help mapping
I live in Cheltenham, in a small mews where most of the people here are in their 80s and 90s, and a retirement community next door.

Shouldn’t we KNOW or at least have systematic data that suggests what has happened?

Self report better than nothing.
After all, there isn’t much point positing that the risks from these event from these event is low if there is no effort to map any data in it at all.

I think we need to know how many deaths & ICU patients, if any, can be traced back to Cheltenham Race week.
