On #girlchildday let me highlight that how rapes have become every day news but hardly accused are proven guilty & convicted.
Here's a thread to highlight & ask them for real #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao .
Some rape statistics I shall share along with Dalit rapes that are ignored.
Recent stats quoting sources .
More than 32,500 cases of rape were registered with police in 2017, about 90 a day, according to the most recent govt data.
According to the NCRB data, 4,15,786 rape cases were reported across India between 2001 & 2017
On average, 67 women were raped every day across the country during these 17 years, or, in other words, about 3 women had been raped every hour.
While 16,075 cases of rape were reported in 2001 across India, this number rose drastically to 32,559 in 2017 - 103% increase .

The movie shows how she suffered just because she refused a pervert .
Most attacks are done by person known to victim .
This one is the same story of a frustrated pervert
The movie has shown the struggle & the delay in the justice.
People in India decide a girl's character by the clothes she wears & if she has male friends.
This sick mentality has to change.
But I know it won't .
Indian judiciary has become a joke now. Why is there so much of delay in giving justice to a female who is scarred for life.
10 yrs imprisonment with 1 or 3 lakhs will not give back her beauty.
She is scarred physically & mentally.
Needs life imprisonment or death sentence

1/ The World Health Organization (@WHO) recently sent 25 international experts from Asia, Europe, Africa & the US as part of a joint mission between WHO & China to study #COVID19.

Here is what they found… (based on studying cases in China for 9 days)
2/Most people infected with COVID-19 virus have mild disease and recover.

Of the cases studied in China…

- 80% are mild to moderate
- 13.8% are severe
- 6.1% are critical
3/ Those at highest risk for severe disease and death include…

- People over 60
- Those with underlying conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease and cancer

Novel #coronavirus (#COVID19) is a new virus strain that emerged in December 2019.

The first case in Washington State was ID'ed Jan. 21 and the first case in King County was ID'ed Feb. 28.

To date, there are 14 total cases in King County, and we expect additional cases.
While the vast majority of #COVID19 cases are mild, some populations are vulnerable to serious infections, which can lead to death.

Of the 14 identified cases to date, 5 of those have died.

Our deepest sympathies go out to their families and community.
More vulnerable populations include people over 60, particularly with underlying conditions like diabetes, heart disease and lung disease.

Come up with a plan with your doctor to identify your health risks for #coronavirus and how to manage symptoms.

I will repeat this, but really important: cases coming out of the US WILL EXPLODE in the coming days. This is NOT a cause for panic. These EXISTING cases are finally being diagnosed, since testing is now more broadly available. 1/
While China still has many new cases, every day, they are no longer the majority of NEW world-wide cases. Outside of China, growth factor in new cases is 31%. 13% of all new cases (outside of China) were discovered yesterday. 2/
Countries with biggest ⬆️ in new cases, include #Iran(385 new out of 978); #SouthKorea (more below; 586 out of 3736); & #Italy (200 plus new cases out of 1128); But the growth rate in cases in other areas is instructive for expected growth in US cases over the next few days. 3/

Doctors all said if she hasn’t been to #Wuhan recently or come in contact with confirmed #coronavirus patients, then will not test. I insisted on X-ray today (Feb 19), she has pneumonia. I asked 4 test, was told to contact local health department which came back with same answer

Since the first reports of cases from Wuhan, a city in the Hubei Province of China, by the end of 2019, more than 76,000 cases have been reported.
Transmission risk is partially understood. Person-to-person spread is most likely via respiratory droplets--similar to the spread of influenza. However, airborne precautions are still recommended due to uncertainty.
