This is a good point. Not sure what the Italian government is trying to claim here, really.

It mostly seems to be: "they were old and sick and were going to die soon anyway."

If their coding practice is so inaccurate why don't they change it?

I am confident docs will keep following the best protocols based on available evidence, which does indicate hydroxychloroquine if a patient cannot qualify for Remdisivir trial or compassionate use.

Should not be moved toward or away from HCQ by the president's hyperbolic tweets.
The science is moving very swiftly with so many ongoing clinical trials.

Kaletra was promising and pretty widely used until it failed its trial, and now nobody is using it.
Replies indicate I was unclear.

My main concern about the POTUS tweet is that describing an unproven but promising treatment as a proven cure will discourage its use, which doctors now think is indicated in many cases. I hope that does not happen.

What they are doing in Washington appears to be working.

@UWMedicine has posted all of their protocols and are updating regularly:

Their first line antiviral is Remdesivir, Gilead's experimental medicine. Second choice hydroxychloroquine.
Earlier version of this document had AbbVie's Kaletra included. Not sure if @UWMedicine removed it because they found it less effective or ran out of supply.

100 opinions on political data, from a few years working in it and a few years working outside of it looking in.

Starting with:

1. From an analyst perspective, election data is trash.
You get real data on what you care about like 1-2 times a year, it’s only IF someone voted (not for whom), and so you have to do a lot of modeling off of other models rather than using actual data.
2. People would probably be horrified to learn how much data basically anyone can buy off of a Secretary of State’s office. That stuff forms the backbone of voter data files (name, address, etc)

I was thinking about this sort of thing and I'm still wondering how long it'll be until the next George Lucas decides they want to pull a Special Edition and re-do a movie they released... but it was something only available on streaming/DRM-based stores.
By this sort of thing I meant this:
Imagine the director of The Umbrella Academy is filming season 2 and decides that they hate the ending of season 1, so they re-film it. They convince netflix to swap out the copy of episode 10 with the new one.

1) There’s a lot of BS about @nntaleb’s Black Swan, antifragility & skin in da game. Let’s take the gloves off and get into trouble.
2) When the Swan flew out, it was immediately butchered by imbeciles not understanding that you can’t predict the unpredictable.

That is the point – and an IQ filter NNT himself proly did not expect.
3) In any complex domain – life! – the Blackest Swan is always skulking around the corner. You know it’s coming, but you don’t know what where when. You can't tame what you've never even conceived of.
