State was running short of hand sanitizers.State owned Kerala drugs & Pharmaceutical( KSDP) started the production of Hand Sanitizers.When demand increased, the production was throttled to 100000 bottles in a single day! 500 ML bottle is sold for just RS 125.(2/6)

Same  in case of Rubber Gloves as well. Due to the increasing 
demand, state owned rubber plant will make rubber gloves for govt hospitals.  It can produce 1750000 pair of gloves per day. (3/6)

As Isolation and quarantine cases increases, state is in need of bed sheets , pillow covers & towels as these materials are disposed after single use by Covid patients. State owned khadi & Handloom units will produce these on urgent basis & state will monitor the quality.

Another subject is the masks. As the demand shoot up, state will produce masks  using women's network 'kudumbashree' to make the masks as per WHO norms. The raw materials will be provided by industries Dept & these masks will be sterilised by KSDP prior distribution. (5/6)

While Modi Govt is restricting the Covid test kits by framing norms to favour a Gujrati private owned company even during such emergency, Left ruled Kerala is setting examples how public sector companies can run the show during the emergencies. (6/6)
