I suspect that the news Prince Charles has tested positive for #COVID19 - with mild symptoms - will massively increase pressure for ramping up of testing capacity, since most people with mild symptoms are refused tests because of capacity shortage
And doctors and nurses are telling me they cannot get tested when they have symptoms
Doctors tell me they are only allowed to test someone admitted to hospital with serious breathing difficulties

inevitably the more people tested, the more who will show up as verified cases. Very difficult to get a handle on the actual incidence of the illness.

who have tested positive for #Covid19. In which case the fall over three days in London feels highly significant and may indicate that social distancing is having an important impact. However the 47% rise in hospitalised numbers in Midlands in just one day and 35% in Yorks and...

Rather than giving money back to Premier League clubs with pay cuts, wouldn’t it be better if players donate those millions to services in frontline of helping us through the #COVID19 crisis. Many hospices are in dire financial straights. Come on football, do what you can to help

1) Although Montreal observed a smaller rise in #COVID cases Friday, it reported its biggest single-day increase in deaths: 12. The pandemic has now claimed the lives of 29 Montrealers, all elderly but for one individual in his/her 30s. In this thread, I also address projections.
2) First, though, let me share what I’ve learned from health professionals on the front lines. At Lachine Hospital, the ICU staff are now intubating an average of three #COVID19 patients a day. Some physicians are desperate for masks and are willing to buy the masks themselves.
3) The total number of confirmed #COVID cases across Montreal Island rose to 2,837 — an increase of 7.38%. That’s far better than Thursday’s jump of 25.99%. But the case numbers are fluctuating wildly from day to day, likely reflecting backlogs in tests.

At the end of 2019, the Special Measures Agreement (SMA) between the U.S. & South Korean expired. Now the money has run out and negotiations are at an impasse. This affects the future of the largest U.S. overseas military base and the U.S.-led security order in East Asia.
When the SMA expired, there was enough money to cover the base support needs until April 1, 2020—THAT’S TODAY. The ROK money has run out.
President Donald Trump wants President Moon to pay $5 billion for 2020, 5x more than South Korea paid in 2019. Amb. Bolton delivered President Trump's demand and the President hammered it home with Moon at the UNGA last September. Moon refused, viewing it as exorbitant.

1/ This is a remarkable turn from Neil Ferguson, who led the @imperialcollege authors who warned of 500,000 UK deaths - and who has now himself tested positive for #COVID; newscientist.com/article/223857…
2/ He now says both that the U.K. should have enough ICU beds and that the coronavirus will probably kill under 20,000 people in the U.K. - more than 1/2 of whom would have died by the end of the year in any case bc they were so old and sick.
3/ Essentially, what has happened is that estimates of the viruses transmissibility have increased - which implies that many more people have already gotten it than we realize - which in turn implies it is less dangerous.

Multiple sources say the inmate who tested positive recently cleaned the empty Capitol building and is now isolated in a solitary confinement cell ... making others afraid to report symptoms since they don't want to go to solitary

Women who feel sick are scared to tell staff because they're "afraid of being thrown in the hole," an inmate said.

A mother said her daughter isn't feeling well "but doesn’t want to say anything," because if she's put in solitary, she won't be able to call her.

You played this @Franklin_Graham compassionate infomercial 7 times in 3 hours today.
1- they said covid is a hoax.
2- I called, 38 seconds into the call they asked me for money.
3- I asked if they have free meals resources, the guy put me on hold and hang up.
I am going to call them again and ask them to pray with me for toilet paper, faster amazon deliveries and a special prayer for someone with a hoarding issue ( @VodkaMuse ) I may record and tweet if I can tweak the voice thing.
$300,000 package minimum commitment to run that many spots.
@Franklin_Graham, I am assuming it is a $2 million blitz campaign with all the networks, online and radio.
Your “ prayer troops” asked me for money under 60 seconds flat.

BREAKING: Palace confirms Prince Charles has tested positive for #COVIDー19.
Although people are rightly angry there are not enough tests for NHS and other key workers, the notion the Prince of Wales should not have been tested is ludicrous. I detest the monarchy as a system of gov’t, but he is - rightly or wrongly - the successor for Head of State.
As a side note, I’m sure that Queen to Windsor, Charles to Birkhall, William to Amner etc. is part of a fairly strict, formalised plan to separate the succession line, in emergencies like these, rather than all of them deciding to give a bad example and take a holiday.
