We have gone into 24/7 total curfew in Cayman for the next three days. The gov and medical services have been very ahead of the curve, which has been amazing. The people too are amazing as they understand the communal sacrifice required from dealing with devastating hurricanes.
We should be able to map out the cases, find the clusters and control, over the next three weeks or so and then we can begin the very, very slow return. Im sure we will remain mainly/partially closed to visitors for a long while and it will leave a big scar on the economy.
Hurricane Ivan put the entire island underwater, closed almost every business for 6 months and destroyed all the houses and buildings. Cayman came back better and stronger afterwards. Soon come, as they say here...
