NC Governor has just issued a lockdown stay at home order for the entire state. I can't wait until November to vote against this idiot. He ordered this with only 763 cases, 3 deaths and 77 in the hospital.
He exempted the homeless. So if you have no home you have complete freedom......

reading the EO you can basically go do whatever the hell you want to do because the loopholes in the order are endless. This is a paper tiger that just shuts down business.

I can not wait to vote this guy out of office. can not wait.

It's called cognitive dissonance. The dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling to the person suffering it. Therefore the person must either change their behavior, their attitude, their belief and/or lash out at the person/idea causing it in order to restore mental balance.
The fake media are too invested in their beliefs. They are "true believers". Their attitudes are set. They can't be changed. Their behavior can't change because they will be shunned by their group. So the only option left is to censor the idea/person or destroy the idea/person.
If they should allow the idea/person to continue and do not change their behavior, attitude or beliefs, they will be stricken literally "insane" & unable to function "normally". This used to be called having a mental breakdown as reality teared away the curtain on their fantasy.

NC cases have been doubling about every 3 days since Mar 3rd. However, today the new cases dropped more than half. 150 new cases were reported yesterday. Today, only 72 new cases. One day doesn't make a trend but still positive news. This thread is mostly for my record keeping
to keep the numbers fresh and double check the media's reporting for some reason I don't trust the media not to play with the numbers going forward. So I'm go to list the cases in NC day by day. Starting with Mar 3rd the first reported case

Breaking: @OregonGovBrown and @tedwheeler have announced a shelter in place/stay-at-home order for the entire state.
Portland mayor Ted Wheeler says Portlanders may be cited by law enforcement if they violate the stay-at-home directive but said police will largely not be used for this purpose.

Police are no longer making misdemeanor arrests to keep jails less crowded.
The Oregon gov. & Portland mayor seemed to say conflicting messages during the Covid-19 presser tonight. It's not entirely clear if the gov. will issue an order for the state or if she is merely urging the public to stay home. Mayor sounds ready for own city order regardless.

1. Around the United States today, hospitals are preparing for a surge of #COVID19 patients and suffering shortages of protective equipment, but few if any have reached the point of outright crisis with insufficient capacity to provide adequate care for patients coming in.
2. And yet we see cities and now states taking increasing dramatic action, as just this evening California Gov. @GavinNewsom issued a stay-home order for the entire state.

Isn't that premature? Why not wait before acting so drastically?

It's not premature. Let me explain.
3. The answer is that we need to #FlattenTheCurve *now* because if we wait until our hospitals are full to take strong measures, it will be too late. The #COVID19 #coronavirus epidemic has momentum, and we cannot turn it on a dime.
