NC cases have been doubling about every 3 days since Mar 3rd. However, today the new cases dropped more than half. 150 new cases were reported yesterday. Today, only 72 new cases. One day doesn't make a trend but still positive news. This thread is mostly for my record keeping
to keep the numbers fresh and double check the media's reporting for some reason I don't trust the media not to play with the numbers going forward. So I'm go to list the cases in NC day by day. Starting with Mar 3rd the first reported case

Going forward I will be using the NCDHHS website. It updates the numbers at 11:00am every day. The news and observer updates during the day so the numbers don't match. Not sure why the news and observer is doing it this way but there it is.
ncdhhs.gov/covid-19-case-…
The NCDHHS site only shows the daily count but gives more information(Mar 28th is showing 935 total cases). the 20 case difference will be picked up by NCDHHS tomorrow at 11:00am. the draw back of the NCDHHS site is you can't track previous days. So I had to use the N&O site for
those. Confusing but you got to go where the data is, I suppose. Anyhow the NCDHHS site also tracks tests completed, hospitalizations, deaths etc so it's a better daily update than the N&O that just blares headlines on total cases.
Today the NCDHHS is reporting
935 total cases
4 deaths
17,527 tests done
87 currently in the hospital
total ICU beds in the state is currently 3223
total ICU beds empty is currently 774
total hospital bed in NC is 17443
total empty hospital beds is 6539
So, only 9.3% of china virus cases are requiring hospital care in NC at the moment. Don't know how many of those are in ICU. And the death rate with KNOWN cases is 0.42%

I'll try to keep this thread updated daily going forward. Those in NC might find the information helpful.
It's always been my contention that the more information a person has, the less chance of them panicking and the more rational they will be.
Update:
Date. New Total Deaths
Mar 29 105 1040 Still 4

Cases currently in hospital 91 (8.75%)

691 ICU beds out of 3223 are empty
5726 out of 14594 hospital beds empty (70% of all hospitals reporting)

The high for new cases is 150/day. Have been...
...under that high for last two days. Still not enough data to make a trend but good news nevertheless.

One other data point. Instead of doubling every 3 days, it took 5 days for cases to double this time. Spread has slowed.
