Shame on you Dr. @GovernorVA and your health admin. Stockpiling, hoarding of medicine certainly is to be discouraged, but Drs are NOT federally prosecuted for prescribing a medication combination currently in clinical trials because it HAS demonstrated 100% effectiveness. 1
Jurisdiction for misprescribing is state licensing boards, never federal prosecutors. @AGMarkHerring must have told you it’s not against state law. Your overzealous desire to prosecute DOCTORS for prescribing drug combinations already in clinical trial during pandemic is SHOCKING
3 I’m a medicinal chemist & regulatory compliance professional, including for large health systems. With Drs in my family spanning 3 centuries I know medicine is practiced. They tried Drs for performing abortions when illegal. Prescribing effective legal meds in a pandemic isn’t.
4. Now this is moot since @US_FDA has given “compassionate use” approval for this combination and many doctors dealing with the pandemic already using it, so thanks! Your Inquisition tactics did at least get the feds attention, spurring action before more people harmed.
5. Harm coming not from the drug combo treatment, but from having effective treatment improperly & capriciously denied.
6. Not to mention attempted malicious prosecution of MDs properly trying to help their sick patients in the midst of a pandemic. You’ve embarrassed yourself, @vademocrats and our great Commonwealth. #BeBetter
