What seems to be the case (and I have no better information at this moment) is that the rush to texts on both sides has merely emphasised big differences, which is exactly why so many of us were sceptical of doing this. Resolve problems before text.
My view remains this is ridiculous. Negotiate trade deal in record time plus for the UK implement new regulatory system while pandemic of uncertain duration rages and takes nearly all of a reduced government capacity in key roles. But that's where we are.
