(1/4) Not all autistic people want to be cured & not all autistic people want to be autistic. The autistics I’ve met who DO claim they’d prefer a cure have a history of pain, suffering, & abuse. When an autism parent highlights this painful history in an argument, they are
(2/4) weaponizing it to claim some autistics are privileged & cannot have a voice or opinion on this matter. Where does this obsessive need to control the narrative come from? Are you advocating for ALL autistics of ALL abilities, or are you advocating for YOUR financial gain?
(3/4) Using first-hand accounts of other autistic people’s wish to be neurotypical as a way to further your agenda is NOT autism advocacy. It is exploiting their pain & suffering while attempting to prove autistic privilege exists to control the conversation around autism.
