and to shift all of our service to our city mortuary side—body pickup and storage. Doing a fraction of the autopsies we would have (no more drug autopsies for the foreseeable future, many views. Already have 8 refrigerated tractor trailers parked at hospitals around cities
and being used. Home deaths are running 4x higher than norm his week. We don’t peak for another 3 weeks here. Relying on many police investigations because we can’t even get to all scenes now and still handle the big volume of hospital calls.
And that’s AFTER we start the call by telling them covid is not reportable to Ocme. Projected to have as many as 12000 deaths within the next few weeks. We are trying to figure out a possible call center plan. DMORT and air national guard are assisting
with the city mortuary side of business. We will be doing city burials every single day starting Monday. managers have all been on 12-14hrs every day without a break for 3 weeks and going to be this way for at least a couple more months.
And one of our two disaster Ops managers found her brother dead in his appt on a welfare check last night - covid. Lots if employees are sick. Or their families are sick.
